How This Site Changed My Life.

Having money is a big deal... especially if you don't have it.

I was one of the ones that never seemed to have enough to live on and save for the future. I SO wanted to believe that there was a way for me to make enough money without being swallowed whole by a job; to not have to choose between a life and an income.

Most jobs wanted so much of me that there was little left for the family. It always seemed that the jobs that paid well (sales) left me feeling unfulfilled and the job I loved (EMT) paid too little (the pay in EMS was dismal at that time).

Like anyone, I just wanted to work at something I could take pride in while making an income that I could live on in comfort and still have a quality relationship with my favorite people.

I've spent years and a considerable amount of money looking for financial independence. There are countless companies and scam artists that were delighted to see me coming... rubbing their hands together with glee, no doubt.

It seemed that the less money I had the more easily promises of financial freedom could pry it out of my pocket. The harder the struggle, the more desperately I clung to the idea that it was possible to do it all on my own terms.

Pyramid schemes, multi level marketing fiascos, investments that disappeared into thin air, commodity trading and internet scams; all promising wealth beyond your dreams have been both disappointing and... rather embarrasing.

Admittedly, I eventually became somewhat jaded and untrusting after being yanked around from one get-rich-quick scheme to the next.

It DOES Exist

Thankfully I was paying attention when my daughter announced that she was going to start her own website. I found that news rather interesting since she had purchased her first computer less than a year before.

She said she was going to replace her income with a web business where she would share her vast knowledge in the cosmetology area with visitors to her site and offer products for sale from companies that she respected.

We watched as with no real computer skills she developed a lovely and well trafficked site. Once the traffic started coming she started placing ads on her site. Some ads paid per click and some required a purchase. Within 18 months she was making a tidy little income while staying home with her 2 sons.

We were asking lots of questions by this time. While we were working our butts off we spent time thinking how a year round income would free us to spend more time with the young grandsons when we were home and to enjoy semi retirement on our boat in Mexico in the winters.

Although I didn't completely understand the process I certainly had all the proof I needed.

With a great deal of encouragement from our daughter I began to do some research and mental juggling. I had no doubt that it could be done, it was whether I could do it that concerned me.

The idea took on a life of it's own and almost without my consent, ideas popped into my head and scrap pieces of paper would fill with hastily jotted notes.

I had about the same amount of computer savvy that Michelle had, which included e-mailing and surfing the web - I had made purchases over the internet but had not yet learned to include an attachment with an e-mail. Ready to give it a try, I purchased my SBI! site and began work.

There Is a Way Out

That was almost 6 years ago and I haven't looked back. I have 5 websites on a variety of subjects and work only for myself.

The learning curve was steep but relatively short and SBI! held my hand the entire way. From selecting a viable domain name to mapping out an easy to navigate and profitable website.

On the boat we use solar power extensively as do most cruisers so it seemed a good place to start. Because solar energy plays such a key role in our cruising life we've spent countless hours researching it. What better to do with what we've learned than pass it on?

Every technical tool I needed was provided in my package. No extra fees for domain registration or search tools. All I had to focus on was getting the keyword rich content on the pages. They even send me a message if there's a broken link on one of my pages.

I am astounded at the amount of information SBI! has compiled and all to make me more successful at my business. It's doubtful I'll ever read it all but it's comforting to know that it's all there if I need it.

It turns out that for me, a website (or two or three) can be fun, educational and financially rewarding. I've found the perfect job and I decide when I work. I couldn't have done this without SBI!
