Sun Tea
Use the sun to make refreshing beverages.
It's tea time! Healthy beverages for sultry summer afternoons.

It's super easy to make refreshing Sun Tea for two or twenty. Keep energy costs down and your kitchen cool by using the sun to steep your
summertime tea.
Infuse a little sunshine into a glass jar filled with water and tea leaves or bags for a low calorie, loaded with goodness, iced tea.
We start our tea at about 9:00 or 10:00 in the morning and let it sit in a sun drenched area for 4 or 5 hours. Just about the time the sun is overhead and we're looking
for a quenching beverage, our tea is ready.
Your daily water intake doesn't have to be blah or loaded with sugar.
Tea is good for you and what could be more wholesome than flavorful beverages made with the help of the sun.
Here's how to make one of the most refreshing beverages... under the sun.
Ad Pizzaz to Your Tea
Add - lemon, lime, orange, kiwi, strawberry, pineapple, starfruit, cherries, berries, mint sprigs etc. to garnish your solar
tea.
- Start with a jar, the size doesn't matter but the ratio of tea to water should be 1 teabag for every 2 cups of cold water. If you'll be using a lot of ice
in your tea, make the tea a little stronger than you ordinarily would.
- Fill the jar with cold water and add selected variety of teabags. Any tea can be used to make sun tea - loose or bags. Use your favorite flavor.
- Place the jar - with lid on - in a sunny area and allow the tea to steep for several hours (5 or so).
- When the tea has color and aroma remove from the sun and refrigerate. If you wish, honey or sugar can be added while the tea is warm. (We leave it unsweetened)
- Serve over ice and offer lemon, lime, fruit juice, sparkling water, soda pop, honey or sugar and allow your guests to customize their own tea.
